Book design that investigates the various connections between the people of Northeast India. Published by The Medical Mission Sisters, a community of dedicated women with almost 600 Canonical members and 100 Associates. They offer care and compassion to millions of individuals around the world. Over the past 89 years their mission has evolved from curative, to preventative, to promotive, to community-based, to holistic health care.
The primary goal when designing was to create a record of the mosaic of cultures in the relatively unexplored eastern-most region of India connected to East India via a narrow corridor squeezed between Bhutan and Bangladesh. The various tribes each with its own language, traditions, customs and costumes were given equal importance through a poetic use of language, color (especially color), typography and scale.
