About

Hinterland is a New York-based multidisciplinary design studio.

We create branding and identity for print, digital and environments; publication design for books and magazines; and illustrations and information graphics. Our work is guided by the belief that the best design is often the result of a close collaboration with our clients. We have a passion for solving design problems and carefully develop all project elements—from overall concept to specific detail—to present a cohesive, unified message. Our flexible structure allows us to form teams of designers and collaborators to take on projects of any scope and scale. We work with you through every step of the process, making sure that the final result effectively communicates the goals of your organization.

process

1
Research

We work closely with you to find out all we can about the project and how best to achieve your goals. Before we get down to work, we get to know you and your organization, so the design reflects your own point of view, right from the start.

2
Development

Building on our research, we explore various creative strategies that will help you meet your objectives and establish a course of action that will be a blueprint for success.

3
Implementation

Guided by the chosen concept, we craft a unique, one-of-a-kind visual solution that will effectively communicate the goals of your project through design, from the big picture to the smallest detail.

4
Launch

We put the new design into action, working with you to implement the strategy in all its varied forms. We help you with project management, oversight and follow through, so you hit the ground running and the introduction of your design has impact.
