Redesign of Rotunda, a magazine for the members of the American Museum of Natural History, one of the world’s preeminent scientific and cultural institutions. The Museum’s global mission is to discover, interpret and disseminate information about human cultures, the natural world and the universe through a wide-ranging program of scientific research, education and exhibition.
The goal was to reintroduce a bimonthly newsletter as a more substantial quarterly magazine with a stronger editorial voice and a fresh, dynamic visual style. Additionally, the design needed to satisfy and appeal to an audience that includes both the scientific community and families with children. We created a clean, clear and flexible layout with a contemporary look that features wide-ranging content including text heavy articles, information graphics, historical imagery and newly commissioned photography. We continue to work with AMNH on every issue of the magazine.
